How have you been recently? February is almost over, only a few days left...and March is coming soon. In Japan, People say March is the month of farewell because we usually have graduation ceremony on March. It always makes us sad when the time has come you have to say good bye to someone.
Today, we would like to introduce you one of the seasonal events in japan which is called “HINAMASTURI” in Japanese or “Girl’s Festival” in English. It is also called “Momo no Sekku,” which means “Peach Festival.”
Hinamatsuri is a day to pray for the health and happiness of young girls.
On that day, they display dolls in the living room because it is believed that the dolls have the power to take away bud luck.
Modern families celebrate the day by eating springlike sushi-dishes and create a Hina-matsuri inspired cakes.
